Fund with what? That bill doesn’t remove money(s)… it merely allows for state and local spending instead of DC mandated spending. It won’t cost you a penny more to be? allowed the privledge to VOTE for the spending. How is voting… wrong?

I hope the government will fund programs that show improvements in economic and living conditions, such as bicycle programs. Walking and bicycling has so much more opportunity to grow with great benefits and cost? less than any motor vehicle programs that enable the same lifestyle that led to this recession.
Many sources explain the benefits of bicycling and walking.

Taxes should be spent on programs that help the people.

@lgdrexler the government has been out of funds for the past several years, but they seem to allocate the money they don’t have to? bailing out big companies and to give to the unemployed. Oh well

@suitmanIM I hardly ever drive, yet I still pay taxes. I want a share of money to be spent on the things I do use – biking, walking, and transit. I’m fine with highways being built and? maintained too, I just want a representative amount to go to other transportation options that plenty of people are choosing to use. As is often pointed out: 12% of trips are made by walking or biking, yet these only receive 1.5% of funding. That’s a bargain, and the type of investment we should make.

  5. lgdrexler says:

@3034893118 FEDERAL funding is being cut. You can still bike to work, lock up your bike at the existing train station bike locker, and ride? in the bike lanes or paths you currently use.
However, with the government OUT OF FUNDS, people out of work and needing money for food & shelter, funds will no longer be allocated for projects improve roads and routes for bicyclists. There will no longer be a person paid to facilitate children riding bikes to school.
We’ll have to do this ourselves locally.

  6. suitmanIM says:

What did you expect? Do you want the government to just print more cash… like that isn’t also a tax? We can’t all just say cut everything… except MY programs. I don’t want to live in a nation that has become like Greece. Man-up buddy.. times are tough! We can return? to bicycle centric programs after the budget is fixed.
