I’ve never used the Mahin but I just watched a couple of videos on how to tie it and there are a couple of things that I don’t like about it. The knot that you tie to the fluoro at the beginning and the safety knot you tie to the braid at the end. Those two knots along with the small tags that you have to leave would cause a lot of friction while going? through the guides on your rod. This would shorten your cast significantly and cause knot failure.

Gene, first of all I want to tell big THANK YOU. Your chanell is very interesting and usefull for? me,
Come back to your video. Have you ever used Mahin knot for connecting fluoro with braid line? What knot (according to your experience) is most durable Mahin or Improved Albright?
P.S. I also use Improved Clinch and this knot is my favorite.

Loved watching the little one fishing!!!
The Palomar knot is the knot that I use most, Rob actually prefers the snell knot on a hook, and a improved clinch knot and? generally everything else.

Thanks man. In my videos I always try to include those details that are overlooked or forgotten. A lot? of research goes into it sometimes but most of the time it’s because I’m a library of useless knowledge.

  15. flukemstr says:

I own three of them. I wish I would have gotten a few more. I converted that one to a 5.3:1 and the gears only cost? me 25 bucks. So for 85 total I have a toned down Wench.

  16. 4orkful says:

here i thought i? was the only person to own a Revo SC haha. People always ask me what it is when its on the deck of my boat next to SX’s and STX’s, because its red. Was a good deal at the time though.

  17. BassinK9 says:

You nailed it, Gene….. a lot of folks gripe about the Palomar with fluorocarbon, but? the problem is they’re not cinching with the tag end instead of the main line, and they don’t wet the knot. I use the Palomar for everything and I’ve never had it fail…. even with braid.

  18. GabooNx says:

I used the improved clinch all my life and within past 5 years changed to other? knots depending on situation, every fisherman should know these knots.

  19. flukemstr says:

    Thanks?

  20. flukemstr says:

    Palomar?

  21. flukemstr says:

It’s a Revo SC. It was a special run of Revos? made for Cabelas.

  22. flukemstr says:

Nope, The guy I bought? the boat from washed the seat with bleach. The bleach breaks down the stitches eventually the seats explode.

  23. buggtaculer says:

do you have? cats or dogs that tear up your seats?

  24. MrNetbait123 says:

Is the? reel in the first clip a revo mgx
